Montezuma County GIS Department is accepting applications for a GIS Specialist. This is a full time position with benefits. Anticipated start date as early as May 16th.

Education/Experience:

Associate Degree in GIS or related field of study, such as land use planning, cartography, or computer science with elective emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS). Two years of experience using ArcMap GIS software and GPS devices. Knowledge of cartographic procedures and practices. Knowledge of SDE database management and Python programming desired. Experience in developing web-based GIS applications a plus.

Essential Duties:

Use survey plats, CAD drawings and land survey benchmarks to update digital land parcel geometry. Updates taxing and political district boundaries using recorded and court documents. Produces maps (various sizes and complexity) for County departments and citizens. Assists the GIS Manager in research and database verification projects that can be complex and time consuming. Works closely with the Assessor and Planning departments.

Montezuma County is a drug-free workplace.
Salary $40,000 to $44,000 DOE and qualifications.
