North Wind Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Natural Resources Specialist, in support of Fort Huachuca's Environmental and Natural Resources Division in southeast Arizona, as part of a contracted staff.

Purpose:

Provide support to Fort Huachuca’s Environmental and Natural Resources Division as part of contracted staff. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Conducting field surveys for various Southwest birds, mammals and herpetofauna;

Writing and reviewing survey reports and management plans

Responding to nuisance wildlife calls

Monitoring and control of invasive species, plants and animals

Public outreach and education

Key role in managing hunters and data for installation hunting program

Assist with habitat and T&E species management

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Wildlife biologist or biologist with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, conservation biology, ecology, natural resources, or other degree related to wildlife biology is required.

Good writing skills

Will need to pass NACI clearance for access to government networks

Experience with hunting programs is desired

This position will require a rabies vaccination

 

Skills used in this position include:

GIS mapping with ESRI ArcGIS software and GPS units

Wilderness First Responder and First Aid

ATV, UTV and 4-WD operation

wildlife survey techniques

Command of Microsoft Office suite software

Southeastern Arizona plant identifications

Certification and license for application of herbicides
