Esri UC 2016: MS-GIST Program Makes Presence Known

The 2016 Esri User Conference is in the books, and it was jam-packed with spectacular technical sessions, demos, expo events, paper sessions, a great map gallery, and sharing the San Diego Convention Center with over 15,000 other conference-goers. Topics of discussion ranged the entire array of GIS, including ArcPro, Survey123, Insights, ArcMap Desktop 10.4, Drone2Map, ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.0, Big Data, Real-Time GIS, Vector Tiles, and much, much more than could be listed here. The UC was an incredible opportunity for students and professionals alike to discover more about applications in GIS along with emerging technologies that are being applied to the field.

Students, Alumni, and Staff from the MS-GIST Program were present at the Esri UC in numbers. In all, 7 current MS-GIST students attended the conference, 4 of whom were present on the esteemed Esri UC Student Assistantship. We spotted so many MS-GIST Alumni at the conference who are currently working for Esri, several of whom gave presentations/demos to audiences at the conference or were actively addressing user questions at the support islands. It was awesome to see these grads doing such great things in the field of GIS, and imparting their wisdom to so many people that can put their knowledge and advice to good use.

Along the way, we managed to collect a number of pictures throughout the conference of MS-GIST folks and all of the sights that we witnessed. To view all of the pictures that we have put together, visit our Esri UC 2016 Album on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/uagist/photos/?tab=album&album_id=860654544039331

Here’s to Esri UC 2016! Esri UC 2017 beckons, and the MS-GIST Program will be there!
