Anna Augustowska, a 2014 University of Arizona graduate with a Master’s degree in Journalism, has been hired as a Multimedia Design Specialist and will work closely with GIST team on developing multimedia content for the new online bachelor’s degree in GIST and will assist SGD with video and design solutions on educational content and marketing materials. Anna is a Polish-born multimedia producer who worked for television stations in Warsaw and Wroclaw, and recently for AZPM in Tucson as a host, reporter and segment producer for AZ Illustrated Science, Nature and Arts. 

As a video-savvy professional, Anna is going to help build visual content for the new BSGIST program and contribute with strategizing on new ways to transform traditional classrooms into online interactive platforms that could benefit students from all over the country and world registered in the program. Anna sees this opportunity as a great way to use her journalistic and broadcast skills for the GIST Programs and SGD purposes, and hopes to enhance ways of teaching by providing visually compelling educational materials in online learning. This is the first time a multimedia specialist position has been offered in the School of Geography and Development and is listed among just a few others of this nature on the University of Arizona campus.
