GIST Hiring Two Assistant Professors of Practice

The School of Geography and Development at The University Arizona, is seeking two Assistant Professors of Practice (Career Track) to join our dynamic faculty and students and advance the development and instruction in our on-line BS and MS programs in Geographic Information Systems Technology (GIST), which are quickly growing programs (http://gis.arizona.edu). This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ranked geography school and be a faculty member at Arizona’s land-grant institution. The on-line MS-GIST program began in 2014 and now accepts up to 30 students per semester. The BS-GIST undergraduate program began in 2015 and saw its first students graduate in 2018; it is one of the fastest growing on-line undergraduate majors at UA. Successful applicants will teach across the two programs.

The jobs are initially offered as a full time, academic year (9 month) appointment from August 2019 through May 2020. The post may then be renewed. The distribution of effort will be 60% Teaching and 40% Service.
