MS-GIST Graduate Madison Benson is working for Cox Communications in Phoenix, AZ

Madison Benson is a graduate of the MS-GIST program who has been working for Cox Communications as a HFC/Access Designer. Madison recently contacted UA GIST to announce there are currently multiple open positions for HFC/Access Designers with Cox Communications in Phoenix, AZ.

She shared these opportunities as well as her own experiences in this role. From Madison:

I'm an HFC/Acess Designer at Cox Communications in Phoenix. I design/map the physical infrastructure of our fiber network and ensure circuits are spliced properly to maintain our network's integrity. I was offered this position just a few months after graduating from the MS GIST program. The program prepared me the most with in-depth learning of the tools used in most GIS-related positions (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.), as well as the importance of details when making maps and maintaining a database. I've been in this role for 2 years and after just 1 year, I was promoted and given my own market to design/manage entirely alone. My Master's has opened many doors for me and I fully believe that I would not be as successful as I am without it. I'm grateful for the quality education I received and I can't thank UA enough for the opportunity. Beardown!

Thanks,
Madison Benson
