MS-GIST Program Exits Outreach College, Looks to Future

Since the inception of the Master’s of Science in GIS Technology Program at the University of Arizona in 2011, the program has been administered as a part of the Outreach College at the University. While this model has proven to be a sufficient mode of executing the program, unique opportunities have arisen that will provide exciting new possibilities for students, faculty, and affiliates of the MS-GIST Program.

The MS-GIST Program is excited to seize this opportunity. Beginning in January 2016, the MS-GIST Program will no longer be affiliated with the Outreach College, and will transition to traditional University of Arizona administration. This is the next step for our growing program, and it will provide a solid foundation for our future. In addition, qualified students will be eligible for benefits that were previously unavailable to candidates in our program.

On top of that, the In-Person offering of the MS-GIST Program has moved from its prior home in the Harvill Building to the incredible new facilities of the UA's ENR2 Building, known for its environmentally friendly features and sustainability-minded architecture.

As we approach a strong finish to the fifth year of the University of Arizona’s MS-GIST Program, we look forward to the intriguing changes that the next five years will bring with great anticipation.
