UA GIST at the 2019 AGIC Learning Symposium is a Rousing Success
Faculty, staff and students from the MS-GIST program attended the Arizona Geographic Information Council's 2019 Learning Symposium in Prescott, AZ and enjoyed one of the best conference experiences to date.
Five MS-GIST students were awarded 2019 AGIC Tony Gonzalez scholarship awards to attend the conference giving them the opportunity to learn the latest regarding GIS technology at the state, regional and national levels. In addition to technical workshops, GIS lectures, and excellent keynote speakers, students were exposed to a broader vision of GIS within Arizona and given a great opportunity to network with other GIS professionals.
UA GIST maintained a booth where faculty, staff and students took time to engage the conference attendees, inform them about our program and catch up with alumni. In the Symposiums' student competitions MS-GIST students won both with Jacob Logan being awarded the Best Student Poster and Cody Wooden winning Best Analytical Presentation.
Congratulations to all the MS-GIST students who attended!
