UA MS-GIST 2019 Graduate Mohamed Mohamed is now an Engineering Technician

The UA MS-GIST Program would like to congratulate recent graduate Mohamed Mohamed who has secured a position as an Engineering Technician with KLJ Engineering in Omaha, Nebraska.

From Mohamed:

Six weeks after my graduation ceremony, I started working for KLJ Engineering as an Engineering Technician. KLJ is a national multi-disciplinary firm, that specialized in aviation, environmental, funding resources, land development, oil & gas, power, public works, right-of-way, structural, survey, telecommunications, transportation, and water. My work combines fieldwork and engineering designs updates. I collect spatial data and updating engineering designs. Now, as the company is moving to ArcGIS Enterprise, we are discussing using Mobile GIS for field data collection.

His thoughts on the MS-GIST program:

The program gave me the skills, credentials, and networking capital which gave me a head start in the job market. Within six weeks after my graduation ceremony, I had three job offers (one from Apple), and two other interview offers (Pima County, Arizona, and Farmington City, New Mexico). The staff was helpful in guiding us with opportunities and networking. All of these potential GIS positions were a direct result of capitalizing on the MS-GIST contact network.
