The University of Arizona’s Geographic Information Systems Technology (GIST) program hosted an alumni homecoming event on Friday, November 7, bringing together students, alumni, and industry leaders for a day of learning and connection. The event kicked off with a “Lunch and Learn” session led by representatives from ESRI, who shared insights into career paths and job opportunities within their company. Attendees gained firsthand advice from one of the world’s leading GIS organizations about how to navigate the evolving geospatial technology industry. In the afternoon, GIST alumni from various local agencies and organizations took the stage for a series of panel discussions. They reflected on their professional journeys, offered career guidance, and reminisced about memorable experiences from their time in the GIST program. The event wrapped up with Chris Lukinbeal and Andrew Grogan serving as guest coaches at the football game for the Wildcat's amazing win over the University of Kansas. The event underscored the strength of the University of Arizona’s GIST community—connecting current students with graduates now making an impact across Southern Arizona and beyond.
