Agreement Makes PAG’s Orthophoto and LiDAR Archive Available to the University of Arizona
Pima Association of Governments has finalized an agreement with the University of Arizona Libraries, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, The School of Geography and Development and School of Natural Resources and the Environment to make PAG’s orthophoto and LiDAR archive available to University of Arizona students, faculty and staff through the University of Arizona Libraries.
This imagery and LiDAR archive represents 3.7 Terabytes of data for 1,800 to 2,000 square miles of eastern Pima County. High resolution regional orthophotography imagery datasets are available for 1998, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2011. Regional LiDAR point cloud datasets are available for 2005 and 2008 with additional 500 square miles of data available from 2011. On average this point cloud data contains elevation point data (an x,y,z coordinate) every 2.4 ft for roughly 1,800 square miles of eastern Pima County.
These rich datasets are now freely available for University of Arizona students, faculty and staff to explore and research elements about the Tucson Region’s built environment and its interaction with our natural surroundings.
