MSGIST Alum (2019) Cody Wooden is now Water Conservation Specialist at City of Scottsdale

Congratulations to MS-GIST (2019) alum Cody Wooden on his Water Conservation Specialist position with City of Scottsdale.

Cody notes, "As a Water Conservation Specialist, my main focus is to help residents and businesses in Scottsdale adapt water-saving techniques to their properties and water systems. Daily duties include Xeriscape consulting, water system efficiency checks, meeting with HOAs and homeowners to reduce large scale water use, analyzing water use data to guide decision making across the city, and managing various data collection software. I was also brought on to help the water conservation dept. transition to more GIS- driven analysis and management of water use data, and how to visualize solutions to ongoing water-related problems. With my environmental science and conservation biology background, this position is a perfect combination of using data management and GIS to solve problems with unsustainable water management throughout the City of Scottsdale."
